Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213).
The following are necessary for the Baptism of a child under the age of 7:
The Baptism Prepration class is a two hour class that covers in detail the Sacrament of Baptism and the requirements of the Catholic Church. This class also meets the necessary requirements needed to be a Godparent at Baptism. Currently, this class meets every month on the 3rd Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Family Center.
Please call the church office to sign up for the class. Baptisms are scheduled every Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Please see the letter from our Pastor with more information about Baptism preparation requirements.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) process and RCIA adapted for children or teens prepares those who have reached the age of reason to receive the Sacraments of Initiation, including Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
