Welcome to the 2018-2019 catechetical year!
Any parent who is a parishioner at St. Theresa can register their child or children from 3-year-olds through Pre-Confirmation (The Sacrament of Confirmation is received in grades 9 and up). Learn more about our Children's Catechesis program here. Registration for Catechesis of the Good Sheperd is also available on this page.
Are you a parishioner?
You must be a registered member of St. Theresa Parish to participate in our Children's Catechesis and sacrament programs. You may register as a parishioner using this form.
Does your child need to prepare for a Sacrament this year?
The Sacraments of 1st Reconciliation and 1st Eucharist are generally received during 2nd Grade. Two years of comprehensive catechesis are required in preparation. For more information, please visit our 1st Reconciliation and 1st Eucharist page. For Confirmation information please visit our High School Confirmation page. The application and fee for High School Confirmation is entirely separate from the PreK through PreConfirmation catechesis classes.
What is your role as a parent?
As a parent, you are the primary teacher and will have the greatest impact on your child's Catholic faith. While the parish community can support you in this role, nothing can replace the witness of parents living out their Christian discipleship. In fact, parents have been ordained by God to evangelize their children. How a parent demonstrates the priority and essential reality of their relationship with Christ (or doesn't) will speak louder than anything that takes place in the classroom.
When it comes to the lifelong discipleship of your child, catechesis classes are a supplement, not a replacement.
In preparation for this coming year, how will you witness to your faith? Full, conscious, active participation in the Sacrifice of the Mass each week is our foundation. In addition, we all need ways that we can give of our time, talent and treasure and grow in our faith through ongoing catechesis. Below is a list of ways to do this. We ask that you choose one (or several!) before registering your child for catechesis classes. Think of it as your commitment to your child.
This form must be completed for each child in order to complete registration.
