St. Theresa Catholic Church is home to a vibrant Senior Adult Ministry offering many opportunities for fellowship, spiritual growth and support, service, and fun. Below are a few ways senior adults can stay connected to the faith community and become involved. Many of these ministries have been suspended or revised during COVID-19 precautions.
Pastoral care visits: The Minister of Senior Adults visits senior adult parishioners in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals and private homes as requested. To request a visit, contact Sr. Ann Pennington at (512) 451-5121 x1017 or at ann@sttaustin.org.
Senior Adult Friendship Group
Senior adults are invited to join this new group which meets each Wednesday at 10 a.m. on the outdoor terrace of Elmer Hall. After many senior adults were restricted to their homes, the Bridge Club members decided they needed an opportunity to safely socialize with friends. They socialize instead of playing bridge at this time, and they invite other senior adults to join in.
For more information on any of the above ongoing activities please contact Sr. Ann Pennington at (512) 451-5121 ext. 1017 or ann@sttaustin.org.
These are scheduled periodically and have included the San Antonio Missions, The Painted Churches and the LBJ Ranch. Check this webpage and the bulletin to learn of an upcoming tour. These are temporarily suspended during the pandemic.
Referral Center
Senior Adult Ministry also serves as a Referral Center for senior adults needing assistance with housing, medical supplies, medical equipment repair, home health care and elder abuse issues.
